Dan is responsible for developing new, and enhancing existing capabilities and service offerings in the Health Plan, Provider, and Service Vendor verticals. His work includes the productization and alignment of Shearwater’s services to address the critical business objectives and regulatory requirements for government sponsored organizations.
Dan has over 14 years of managed care and government programs experience, with a focus on Medicare Advantage products. Prior to joining Shearwater Health, Dan led key corporate initiatives to achieve maximum performance outcomes for Risk Adjustment, STAR Ratings, Payment Reform, and Medical Cost Trend Management for Regional Health Plans in New York State. He successfully implemented cross-functional initiatives that resulted in 4.5 STAR outcomes, demonstrated operational efficiency, and achieved payment accuracy related to both Risk Adjustment Revenue and Shared Savings reimbursement models.
Most recently, Dan served as the SVP of Healthcare Analytics, Risk Adjustment, and Provider Operations for Gorman Health Group, a professional services firm focused on aligning federal and state regulatory requirements with best-in-class business strategies for government sponsored programs. Dan is a frequent industry speaker at national conferences and has published industry whitepapers on performance optimization and the integration of clinical management, quality initiatives, and Risk Adjustment strategies.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Clarkson University, where he also played Division One Hockey. He lives in Buffalo, NY and will be on-site in Nashville monthly. When not working, Dan spends all of his time with his family and his three-year-old son, Declan.
