What do you do at Shearwater Health?
I lead the Nurse Development Team, helping to ensure our nurses have skills that meet or exceed U.S. clinical standards. We provide training and coaching sessions in preparation for their future employment in the United States.
What makes you passionate about your work at Shearwater Health?
Being a nurse myself and knowing the struggles of working here in the Philippines and abroad. Like them, I once shared the same dream – to be in the U.S. – and seeing them with their families. It gives a feeling of contentment that you get to help these nurses and their loved ones have a better, brighter future. That’s what keeps me going!
What has been your favorite memory while working at Shearwater Health?
Aside from the family environment, there was a time when a nurse sent me a message and a token of appreciation, for believing in her that she could become a USRN. She was feeling hopeless with juggling work and review – but with consistent follow up and encouragement – she made it! And that made me really proud of her and the rest of her batch as well.
If you could have any superpower, which would you choose and why?
Time travel – It’s cool to have the ability to go back and change the things that went wrong. It’s exciting as well to have a look in the future and make necessary preparations for it.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza! Thin crust with extra loads of cheese and if possible with aioli dip.
What is your favorite animal?
Lhasa Apso – They are a social butterfly, playful, and have easygoing personality.
