Serving as Chairperson for Risk Adjustment Programs at RISE Nashville 2020
Over the last 10 years, my career has been focused on developing and deploying tactical strategies that take revenue secured through risk adjustment activities and applying it to patient-centered initiatives that support population health, care management, and quality of care programs. This year, I am honored to serve as the Chairperson for Risk Adjustment Strategies at RISE Nashville on March 15-17th. The agenda for the Risk Adjustment Track is packed with sessions that are sure to equip the industry with the knowledge and solutions needed to be successful in your work.
Industry experts from Health Systems, Health Plans, and Solution Vendors will be coming together to discuss their best practices for Risk Adjustment Programs during this conference. Whether its operational efficiency or innovation, our speakers will be regaling conference attendees with success stories on how to capture revenue and care for our most vulnerable populations.
This year, there are a few common themes with our sessions: In-Home Care, Point-of Care, and Clinical Documentation Solutions. This is a sign that the industry is thinking proactively. Let’s get to the root of the problem and fix it. Yes, retrospective programs are a must, and we’ll be addressing ways to improve efficiencies and cut costs when it comes to chart retrieval and reviews, but there is a primary focus on putting providers back in the driver’s seat and making patient care the focal point of your Risk Adjustment program.
The repurposing of the in-home assessment from code grab to care management is a refreshing take on this once transactional and disruptive activity. Deploying resources and coding education support services directly into the provider offices will ensure accuracy and quality when it comes to clinical coding and documentation. Optimizing your risk adjustment revenues to think beyond the HCCs and incorporate quality measures and population health initiatives will be covered in every session. It is the new prospective program.
I hope that you’ll join us this year in Nashville.
